Organ transplants are one of the most miraculous achievements of modern medicine. Transplantation has advanced dramatically over the past two decades. Transplantation, the surgical process of recovering organs or tissue from one person and placing them into another, is one of the most remarkable success stories in the history of medicine.
As a result organs are transplanted successfully saving life and restoring eye -sight to hundreds of patients. Though transplants are the only treatment to prolong the life of most patients with organ failure, there is a serious shortage of organ donors.
